Stephen M. Houghton is a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. Since joining the firm in 1980, he has devoted 100% of his time to civil litigation with wide experience in product liability, medical malpractice, transportation, and commercial litigation. He is a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Mr. Houghton is a national lecturer in Continuing Legal Education Programs. He is Vice President of the Pittsburgh Association of Phi Beta Kappa and member of the Equal Justice Campaign, Neighborhood Legal Services Association. Additionally, he maintains an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®. He was selected 2014 Lawyer of the Year By Best Lawyers. Memberships include the American, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, and Allegheny County Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, and the District of Columbia. Also, he is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County and National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and a Fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. In 1975, Mr. Houghton graduated from the University of Michigan, Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan School of Law in 1978. He served as law clerk to the Honorable William W. Knox, U.S. District Judge, Western District of Pennsylvania, 1978–1980.
