About Wanda
Wanda has been practicing as a lawyer for more than 20 years and is a returning partner of Kirk Montoute Dawson LLP. A family law practitioner, mediator, arbitrator and parenting coordinator, Wanda Dawson has argued successfully at every level of Court in Alberta. She has extensive training and experience in many methods of litigation and conflict resolution, including collaborative law, lawyer-assisted mediation, arbitration, interest-based negotiation, and parenting coordination. Wanda’s primary goal is always to reduce the negative financial and emotional impact of separation which her clients and their families experience.Wanda has taught Interest Based Negotiation at the University of Calgary Law School and at the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education, and has taught Mediation of Parenting Issues through the Legal Education Society of Alberta. She has a strong belief in continuing education and regularly attends seminars and courses to update her skills.Wanda is the past Chair of the Canadian Bar Association, South Family Subsection. She is also a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Calgary Bar Association, Collaborative Lawyers of Alberta, Alberta Family Mediation Society, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and the Advocates Society.Wanda earned her LL.B at the University of Alberta in 1999 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2000.
