Patrick A. Molinari is counsel with the firm and brings to his health law and regulatory law practice the experience of an exceptional career in academia. He is particularly interested in the development of health care systems and the emergence of new public and private structures for the provision of health care and related services. He has an in-depth understanding of the normative framework of health care services, whether they involve regulatory, contractual, or commercial issues.Mr. Molinari advises numerous health care organizations and facilities as well as corporations on the strategic and legal aspects of their activities.A professor at Université de Montréal’s Faculty of law from 1977 to 2010, he headed the Centre de recherche en droit public (Public law research centre); he was assistant dean and then dean of the law faculty, then vice-president (administration and finance) of the university. In 2011, he was named professor emeritus in recognition of his many contributions to the university.Co-author of the primary reference work on Quebec health law, Mr. Molinari has also published many annotated and commented versions of the Act respecting Health Services and Social Services and has published nearly eighty books and articles in the fields of health care and fundamental rights.Founding president of the Société de médecine et de droit du Québec, Mr. Molinari chaired the board of the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal from 2004 to 2012. He is also a member of many Quebec, Canadian, and international organizations and committees in the fields of health care, medical practice, and public health. He maintains ongoing relations with international partners associated with major health care system development and biomedical technology projects. From 2001 to 2013, he was advisor to the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice, and he is now vice-president of that organization.
