Martin Schaefer: Experienced Entertainment and Intellectual Property Attorney in Berlin, Germany
Since 1990, Dr. Martin Schaefer had been working for the German industry associations of the recording industry (today: BVMI). As legal advisor and later as managing director he was involved in the development of innovative industry projects for the emerging online-sector.
In 2001, he joined BMG (Bertelsmann Music Group) as Vice President, Legal Counsel Europe, before leaving the company at the beginning of 2004 to become a partner at the law firm of Boehmert & Boehmert. His client base includes numerous companies as well as associations in the media sector and the music industry in particular. He supports them in setting up IP strategies and represents them before courts and the arbitration board for copyright disputes. He also advises them on public policy issues and on strategic projects related to intellectual property law.
