Enrique has over 18 years of experience helping clients navigate family law disputes with clarity and confidence. Before becoming a lawyer, he was a high school teacher—an experience that still shapes his approach to his legal practice today. Whether guiding clients through the legal process or advocating in court, Enrique brings the heart of a teacher to everything he does.Clients meeting with Enrique can always expect a bit of “homework.” He believes strongly that clients should be active participants in resolving their disputes, and he ensures that they are informed, engaged and empowered throughout the process.Enrique’s practice focuses on support and property division issues. He aims to resolve matters out of court whenever possible, but is fully prepared to use every legal tool available to achieve meaningful results for his clients.He also assists with cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements, which he sees as valuable tools for preventing unnecessary conflict down the road.When children are involved, Enrique takes a thoughtful, child-centered approach. As a parent, he understands how difficult separation can be on children and strives to develop solutions that reflect their needs—considering their ages, developmental stages, and best interests—while protecting his client’s rights.Born in El Salvador and raised in Calgary, Enrique earned a Bachelor of Arts in English (with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Education in Secondary English Literature in 1999, followed by a law degree in 2007—all from the University of Calgary.Enrique is fluent in Spanish and offers legal services in his native language. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and walking his dogs: a weimaraner and an airedale terrier.
