Emilio is a partner in the Banking and Finance, Fintech, Mergers and Acquisitions and Real Estate practice areas.He has over 30 years of experience as a specialist in economics, finance and law. He has actively participated in regulated sectors, such as energy (electricity generation and natural gas transportation), telecommunications, finance and real estate.He was general director of special projects of the Economic Deregulation Unit of the then Secretary of Industrial Commerce, where he participated in the negotiation of new regulations in the areas of natural gas, telecommunications, commercial insolvency and civil and administrative procedural law; he also served as advisor to the Secretary of Commerce in the area of commercial law. He was also deputy director of the Office for the Negotiation of the Free Trade Agreement of the same ministry within the group in charge of the negotiation of the chapters on financial services and safeguards of the North American Free Trade Agreement.He currently advises several non-profit entities in microfinance activities (Fincomún, Asociación Promujer, The Ford Foundation and Cemefi) and Transparencia Mexicana, A.C., of which he is secretary of the Board of Directors. He has been a member of the rule of law committee of the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial since 2022 and was a member of the alumni board of The Kellogg School.
