Dr. Dorothea Hofer has been with Prüfer & Partner since 1993 and has been a managing partner since 1998. She did her Ph.D. in physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich. After studying physics at LMU Munich, she also worked for Siemens in the area of semiconductor physics.The practice of Dr. Hofer includes the conduct of litigation proceedings such as patent and utility model infringement proceedings before the Regional Courts of Munich, Düsseldorf, Mannheim and Hamburg and before the competent Higher Regional Courts, opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and before the German Patent and Trademark Office as well as nullity proceedings before the Federal Patent Court and the Federal Supreme Court. She also prepares patent applications and license agreements and advises on employee inventions, trademarks and designs.Dr. Hofer represents multinational corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises in diverse areas, in particular in the fields of physics, medical technology, 2D and 3D printing and semiconductor technology.She presents at conferences and seminars IP law both in Germany and abroad and frequently travel to Japan where she has a strong client base.Dr. Hofer is a member of all major IP associations including European Patent Institute (EPI), International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Chamber of Patent Attorneys and German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright (GRUR).
