Andrea Garcés is the Partner responsible for the Intellectual Property Department at the firm’s Barcelona office.Her wide-ranging experience has made her a specialist in Intellectual Property Law. As an expert in the defence of the right to exclusivity, she has acted in a large number of areas, such as trademark licensing, agreements for the commissioning of works, publishing agreements, the adaptation of existing works and the production and distribution of cinematographic works, among other matters.In the area of litigation, Andrea acts in the interests of clients who wish to protect their exclusive rights. She has therefore represented prestigious international trademarks in both the civil and criminal courts. She has also acted in the contentious-administrative courts to protect industrial property belonging to well-known brands. In the area of intellectual property, her work is particularly focused in defending the owners of some of the most important artistic rights around the world.In the area of Commercial Law, she regularly offers legal advice on corporate, commercial and contractual issues to important Spanish businesses and their international parent companies. She has also been involved in important operations designed to expand the presence of international retail brands in Spain.She also acts as an arbitrator for a number of prestigious institutions.As the result of her professional experience, she has held the position of Secretary of the Spanish National Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), and was subsequently joint Chair of the European Trademark Reform Group.
