After nearly twenty years’ experience as a tax lawyer with the Paris offices of Landwell (1995-2005) and August & Debouzy as of counsel, Alfred LORTAT-JACOB joined the Paris Office of Cornet Vincent Segurel as a tax partner in October 2010.Alfred LORTAT-JACOB holds a Master's degree in public finance and taxation from the University of Panthéon-Assas.He advises companies and company groups, French and foreign, as well as their managements on various areas of tax law (in particular structuring of financial flows, transactions, acquisitions, organisation of groups) and in their relations with the tax authorities (assistance with applications for approvals and in connection with tax audits and tax disputes/litigation).He also assists his clients and various investors in connection with their restructurings in connection with implementation of complex contractual arrangements (innovative financings of acquisitions of military equipment, joint research projects, financing via capital/finance leases, etc.).Working closely with the partners in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department, Alfred LORTAT-JACOB represents Cornet Vincent Segurel’s clients in completion of transactions involving companies and company groups.He works in both French and English.EXAMPLES OF PUBLICATIONS AND COURSES Leading continuing education courses for clients, especially in the area of taxation of mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, real property investments in France and reform of VAT, Leading and speaking at client training courses about recent developments in tax law, Teacher at the CNAM (“Conservatoire Nationale des Arts et Métiers” – engineering school): “Tax treatment of mergers and acquisitions.
