About Sheila
Sheila is a partner in the McKercher LLP Saskatoon office and practices in the area of civil litigation. She has experience in the areas of Insurance Law, Health Law, and Medical Malpractice Defense. As a member of the McKercher LLP’s Insurance Law and Health Law practice groups, she has handled claims related to personal injury, property damage, coverage and professional licensing and discipline. In all areas of her practice, Sheila believes very strongly in alternative dispute resolution, which results in satisfactory settlements as an alternative to the Courts and adversarial litigation.Sheila has appeared before the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal as well as various administrative tribunals. She has prepared applications and written materials for consideration by both the Supreme and Federal Courts of Canada. She was honoured with a Queen’s Counsel appointment in 2019.Sheila has published articles for the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association and Canadian Bar Notes. She has also presented seminars for the Saskatchewan Legal Education Society (SKLESI) as well as mock trials at the University of Saskatchewan.Sheila has been “Consistently Recommended” in the area of Medical Negligence for her work representing defendants in the 2025 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.
