About Shane
Shane’s practice is dedicated exclusively to acting on behalf of Plaintiffs in the areas of personal injury, insurance claims and medical malpractice and he has advocated for clients at all levels of court in the Province of Ontario.Shane has resolved files involving Defendants unwilling to compensate his client prior to his involvement. He has also been involved in a number of significant cases including Bonaiuto v. Pilot Insurance Company and Hazan v. Ing Insurance Company.Shane is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) and the Advocates’ Society. He is also a member of the OBA Insurance Law Section Executive Committee. He has served as a presenter and a panel member at continuing legal education programs and he has been a mentor for multiple articling students and junior lawyers.Shane Katz has also been recognized for 2016-2107 as one of Canada’s premier legal experts in the practice of Personal Injury by Canadian Lawyer Magazine. He ranked as a leading Personal Injury Litigation Lawyer by his peers in Best Lawyers in Canada®.Shane is active in the medical and rehabilitation community. He appears at, and participates in, events hosted by associations and foundations involved in the care of injured and disabled people.Shane received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2000, and went on to earn his law degree from Queen’s University in 2003. Shane was called to the Ontario Bar in 2004.
