In addition, Rick has extensive experience with matters litigated before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board under the America Invents Act.In his securities practice, Rick has defended broker-dealers, issuers, and directors and officers against direct and derivative claims arising under the Securities Act and Securities Exchange Act, as well as claims of fraud, negligence, Sarbanes-Oxley violations, breaches of fiduciary duty, and related ERISA claims. Rick also has broad experience handling customer arbitrations for broker-dealers.Rick has represented numerous clients in investigations by regulatory authorities, and has led numerous internal investigations for clients, including matters dealing with trading issues, employee dishonesty and breaches of fiduciary duty, and accounting issues.
