Since joining Spertus, Josephs & Minnick LLP in 2017, Payton Lyon has developed broad experience at both the state and federal levels assisting clients in matters involving allegations of fraud, trade secret misappropriation, and RICO violations, among others. Payton earned his law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. While in law school, he worked as a student volunteer for the Loyola Law School Project for the Innocent, where he helped secure the release of a client who had served over three decades in prison for a murder he did not commit. During his time at Loyola, Payton also served as an extern to the Honorable Alka Sagar, United States Magistrate Judge, and as an extern in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California.
