Paul J. Neufeld is a partner at Youssef + Partners headquartered in Giza, Egypt. He handles international arbitration and litigation matters globally, including disputes arising out of oil and gas, LNG, mining, desalination, private investment, and construction projects in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, North America, and Latin America.As counsel, Dr. Neufeld has successfully represented clients in US, English, and DIFC courts, as well as in proceedings under all major arbitration rules (e.g., ICC, LCIA, ICDR, SCC, DIAC, ICSID, UNCITRAL) in both commercial and treaty arbitration cases (e.g., NAFTA/USMCA and BIT arbitrations). He was recently recognized as the 2026 “Lawyer of the Year” in International Arbitration - Commercial in Houston, by Best Lawyers in America ®. In addition to helping clients resolve complex commercial and investor-state disputes, Dr. Neufeld also advises on cross-border transactions and investments, particularly those involving Latin America, Middle East and North Africa. He is admitted in Texas, New York, England & Wales (Solicitor) and has full rights of audience in the DIFC Courts, Dubai, UAE. He is also a registered arbitrator with the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).Dr. Neufeld previously taught at the University of Rhode Island and Providence College and has published articles on topics in international arbitration and litigation, including Saudi Arabia for the Dispute Resolution Review.
