Patrick Sommer has a distinguished career in the legal field. He graduated from the University of St.Gallen in 1987 and was admitted to the bar in 1989.
In 2000 Patrick Sommer joined CMS von Erlach Partners Ltd, where he is currently a partner since 2002. During his tenure at CMS von Erlach Partners Ltd, he has been recognized as one of the Best Attorneys in the United States by Best Attorney USA starting from 2012.
He served as the General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors for a Swiss multinational group for seven years. He earned his doctoral thesis on the relationship of Switzerland to the European Union, which he completed postgraduate studies at the Collège d’Europe in Brugues with the H.E.E. diploma.
