He develops policies, responds to investigations conducted by regulatory authorities, conducts audits relating to privacy and system security, drafts outsourcing and service agreements involving the transfer of personal information, and assists clients facing challenges related to the protection of personal information.Maxime also advises clients on matters related to intellectual property registration, litigation and licensing, particularly with respect to trademarks, domain names and copyrights.Prior to founding ESPRIT Law & IP Agency, Maxime co-founded St. Lawrence Law Firm. He also practiced law for over a decade in two prominent Canadian law firms, Stikeman Elliott and Heenan Blaikie.Maxime is heavily involved as a volunteer in not-for-profit and professional organizations. He received the Order of Merit from the University of Ottawa and a Merit Award from the Quebec Bar in recognition of his deep engagement to community service. He is Chairman of the Board of the National Theatre School of Canada. He is also Vice-President of the Canadian Bar Association (Quebec Division). Over the years, he also held various volunteer positions with the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Canadian Bar Association (National), CAN-TECH and GRIS-Montreal. Maxime regularly provides pro bono advice to charitable foundations with respect to the advertising of their fundraising campaigns.
