Joseph L. Luvara

Joseph L. Luvara is a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. He is Co-Chair of the Family Law Practice Group and concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation, with a particular emphasis in automobile accident litigation, product liability litigation, school and municipal liability litigation, family law, and insurance litigation, including bad faith litigation. He has litigated hundreds of cases in both federal and state courts and on both the trial and appellate levels. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Luvara served as a law clerk for Judge Joseph H. Ridge of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. He is a former school teacher and was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship. A frequent lecturer, Mr. Luvara speaks to organizations on subjects including automobile law, insurance law, and bad faith. He is also active in the Fulbright Fellowship Alumni Association, the School Board of Seton-LaSalle High School, the St. Louise de Marillac Athletic Board, and is active in coaching youth athletic teams. Mr. Luvara is a member of the Pennsylvania and West Virginia Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, Superior Court of the District of Columbia, District of Columbia Court of Appeals, United States Court of Appeals for the Third and Fourth Circuits, and United States Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. His memberships include the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, and the Allegheny County Bar Association - Civil Litigation Section.
