José Evenor Taboada Arana is the President of Consortium Legal and his practice areas include Banking and Finance, Corporate, Foreign Investment and International Trade, and Regulated Sector. He acquired his Doctor of Science and Law from JSD Cornell University and also attended the University of Chile.He has been in intensive legal practice for nearly 44 years, with the sole exception of the years of Cornell Law School and later as President of the Central Bank of Nicaragua. The experience includes legal services to the Government of Nicaragua in the negotiations on foreign debt, with the main commercial banks, the IDB, the World Bank and the IMF, as well as the Paris Club. With private practice as a local lawyer for large companies including large local and international companies such as: Wal-Mart, General Electric, Movistar, Isolux, Sony, Philip Morris, Caterpillar, Citi, GE Finance, World Bank , Inter-American Development Bank, BCIE, local banks, Unión Fenosa, Telefónica Móvil, Café Soluble, Grupo Amanco. He has been a Principal lawyer in all the major privatizations that took place in Nicaragua in the last fifteen years.
