Prior to joining Adair Goldblatt Bieber, Ms. Howell served as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, a role that provided invaluable exposure to appellate litigation and judicial decision-making. This experience, coupled with her articles completed at Stikeman Elliott LLP, where she had a secondment at the Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission, has equipped her with a sophisticated understanding of financial regulations and securities law. She also gained critical experience as a summer student at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health’s Legal Services Department, assisting with proceedings before the Consent and Capacity Board and the Ontario Review Board – a role that honed her skills in navigating complex legal proceedings related to vulnerable individuals.
Ms. Howell’s academic achievements are a testament to her dedication and intellectual prowess. She earned her law degree from Queen’s University, graduating with the third-highest standing in her class. Throughout her time in law school, she received numerous prestigious awards, including the Queen’s Law Prize in Trial Advocacy, recognizing her exceptional skills in courtroom advocacy; the Faskin Martineau Dumoulin LLP Prize in Public Law, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to public law scholarship; and the McDougall-Watson Memorial Award, recognizing her overall excellence as a law student.
