He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a B.A. in Political Science. While there, he was the recipient of the Inklebarger Scholarship Award and a member of the Political Science Honors Program. He and his wife reside in Knoxville are the parents of triplets.
