Janine is a partner in the McKercher LLP Saskatoon office where she advises and represents companies in financial distress, lenders and court officers in restructuring and insolvency proceedings as well as clients in commercial litigation matters.Janine obtained her Bachelor of Laws in 2002 from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to this, Janine obtained her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Magna Cum Laude, from Florida State University located in Tallahassee, Florida. Janine was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2003, the Alberta Bar in 2004, and joined McKercher LLP in September 2013. Before joining McKercher LLP, Janine practiced with another major Saskatchewan law firm for seven years. She joined the partnership at McKercher in 2016.Janine advises and represents companies in financial distress, lenders and court officers in restructuring and insolvency proceedings as well as clients in commercial litigation matters. Her experience includes acting for and against financial institutions in the enforcement of security, foreclosures, receiverships, CCAA proceedings, creditor realizations, plans of arrangement, oppression remedy actions, construction disputes, and injunctions, including Anton Piller and Mareva Injunctions.Janine’s experience in commercial litigation matters spans several industries including construction, energy and natural resources, transportation and franchises.While attending Florida State University, Janine played for the FSU Lady Seminoles Soccer (NCAA Division 1 ACC) on a full athletic scholarship for four years during which time she won numerous personal academic and athletic awards. She was team captain or co-captain while she played during those four years.Janine has appeared before all levels of the Saskatchewan Courts, the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, the Alberta Provincial Court and the Supreme Court of Canada.Janine is fluent in French.
