Mr. DiCanio’s litigation practice focuses on complex litigation, white-collar defense, securities litigation and special corporate investigations. This victory showcased Mr. DiCanio’s unparalleled skill in navigating intricate regulatory frameworks and effectively challenging government investigations.
Prior to his extensive litigation work, Mr. DiCanio served as an assistant United States attorney for the Central District of California, holding the position of deputy chief of the General Crimes Section. This role demanded exceptional leadership and operational expertise, requiring him to train and supervise assistant United States attorneys in federal criminal practice and trial advocacy. During his tenure with the Department of Justice, Mr. DiCanio was recognized with the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award – the second-highest award within the Department of Justice – and two awards from the Federal Bureau of Investigation for outstanding service, acknowledging his dedication and impactful contributions to law enforcement. His experience extends beyond courtroom advocacy, as he lectured at numerous federal law enforcement agencies, providing critical insights into the enforcement of federal criminal laws and criminal procedure.
Further demonstrating his commitment to justice and thoroughness, Mr. DiCanio served on the Rampart Independent Review Panel, responsible for critically examining the policies, tactics, and disciplinary procedures of the Los Angeles Police Department. His involvement underscored his dedication to upholding the highest standards of accountability and ethical conduct within law enforcement.
Recognized for his expertise and achievements, Mr. DiCanio has been consistently honored by leading legal publications, including Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and The Best Lawyers in America.
