Brent Helms is a dedicated litigator and mediator with over three decades of experience in civil litigation, insurance law, and business disputes. A Raleigh native, Brent has built a reputation for thoughtful and effective representation in cases involving catastrophic personal injury, insurance defense, and complex business litigation. As a partner at Robinson & Lawing, LLP, Brent brings a zealous approach to litigating matters for his clients that helps them resolve their legal challenges.Brent graduated cum laude from both Wake Forest University and Wake Forest University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and the Moot Court Board. After law school, he served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable John B. Lewis Jr. of the North Carolina Court of Appeals before joining Robinson & Lawing in 1994. He is certified as a Superior Court Mediator by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission.Recognized for his professional excellence, Brent has been selected to the Best Lawyers in America Personal Injury - Defense Litigation Section since 2013, and the Litigation - Insurance Section since 2021, where he was named Lawyer of the Year for the Triad Metropolitan Area in 2026.
