Gordon B. Greenwood is the Managing Partner of Maclaren Corlett LLP. He routinely advises clients on copy compliance and comparative advertising; he assists with labels and product performance claims, provides recommendations on matters of privacy and privacy policies, advises on compliance with the Food and Drugs Act and Regulations, assists in government compliance and consents, and generally provides advice on all matters related to advertising and marketing law concerns. Mr Greenwood also assists in responding to trade complaints, consumer complaints, misleading advertising inquiries, and governmental inquiries or investigations, as well as drafting merchandising and licensing agreements and generally assessing the legal risks inherent in innovative marketing programmes. He is counsel to various trade associations and international companies as well as being Canadian representative on their international crisis management teams Mr Greenwood has a wide range of experience with regulated industries and government regulation at all levels. He has had substantial experience in many diverse areas including consumer packaging and labelling, food and drug regulation, Competition Act (anti-trust) issues, trade practice compliance, cosmetic regulation, primary as well as specific targeted regulation such as softwood lumber, split-run advertising in magazines and various licensing issues. In addition, Mr Greenwood has a wide range of experience in assisting clients in making representations before Senate Committees, House of Commons' Committees and various other governmental and regulatory entities. Has practised before the Supreme Court of Canada, both levels of the Federal Court of Canada and before administrative Tribunals such as the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, Advertising Standards Canada and on Inquiries pursuant to the Competition Act. He is a participant on the Cosmetic Advertising Advisory Group mandated to review and suggest amendments to Health Canada’s Cosmetic Advertising and Labeling Guidelines
