Edward (Ned) Levitt is a partner at Dickinson Wright LLP, Toronto, Canada and a Certified Franchise Executive. He served as General Counsel to the Canadian Franchise Association from 2000 to 2007. Ned is a frequent lecturer at preeminent franchise events in Canada and the United States. As a member of the Ontario Franchise Sector Working Team, Ned was instrumental in the creation of Ontario’s franchise legislation and has had significant input in the franchise legislative process throughout Canada. Levitt is currently a member of the International Committee of the International Franchise Association, a member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising and a member of the International Bar Association. Among his many publications is the leading text, Canadian Franchise Legislation, published by LexisNexis. Levitt is recognized by his peers, The Best Lawyers in Canada, and the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers as one of Canada’s leading franchise practitioners.
