His leadership and expertise within the Attorney General's office culminated in overseeing the Section’s federal litigation docket and supervising a team of twelve attorneys. This experience provides him with unparalleled insight into the strategies and tactics utilized by opposing counsel, allowing him to effectively defend his clients.
Mr. Piersall’s litigation experience encompasses a wide range of employment law matters, including but not limited to: equal employment opportunity claims, discrimination based on race, gender, religion, age, disability, and other protected characteristics, retaliation against whistleblowers, hostile work environment allegations, and violations of wage and hour laws. He has successfully defended clients before numerous critical legal bodies, including the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the State Personnel Board of Review, and various state courts of appeals. Notably, he has argued successfully before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, showcasing his exceptional courtroom skills and persuasive advocacy abilities. His extensive experience includes representing clients in every federal courthouse within Ohio.
Currently, Mr. Piersall serves as the Chairperson of the 2015–16 Labor and Employment Law Committee of the Columbus Bar Association, underscoring his commitment to professional development and contributing to the advancement of the legal community.
