Christian Lopes is a partner of Vilas Boas, Lopes e Frattari Advogados with 20 years of experience in Corporate Law, Arbitration, Contract Law, Financial and Commercial Transactions. He was graduated from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1998), and also is a specialist in Corporate and Economy Law by Fundação Getulio Vargas (2000), a Master of Law (LLM) by Columbia University (2002), and a Master and Doctor of Law by Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2003 and 2011). In addition to being a lawyer, Christian Lopes has been an Adjunct Professor of Private Law at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais since 2012.Christian is a member of the Council of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr), former director of the Chamber of Corporate Arbitration – Brazil (CAMARB), former director of arbitration of the National Council of the Mediation and Arbitration Institutions (Conima) and member of IBA – International Bar Association and of the Minas Gerais’ Lawyers Institute.He authored the books “Correção Monetária: Tempo e Dinheiro no Direito”, “Responsabilidade pré-contratual: subsídios para o direito brasileiro das negociações” e “Mitigação dos prejuízos no direito contratual”, and co-authored the books “Lei Modelo Uncitral sobre Arbitragem Comercial Internacional: Estudos e perspectivas” and “Arbitragem Comercial Internacional e os 60 anos da Convenção de Nova Iorque”, as well as several articles on Corporate Law, Law of Contracts and Arbitration.
