About Brian
Brian P. Flaherty is a trial lawyer who handles complex commercial cases. He joined the firm’s Philadelphia office in April 2009 as a member in the Commercial Litigation Group. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner with WolfBlock LLP in Philadelphia. Brian also has handled criminal matters, particularly in the field of health care, representing health care providers and service and product suppliers subject to anti-kickback, fraud and abuse investigations and prosecutions. He has tried many cases in Pennsylvania and elsewhere in federal and state courts, and handled numerous arbitration matters. Brian is active in the Philadelphia Bar Association, this year serving as chair of its Professional Guidance Committee. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Legal Ethics & Professional Responsibility Committee. Brian worked in the legal department of the New England Power Company and in the office of the district attorney for Suffolk County, Mass. In the district attorney's office, he was assigned to the economic crimes unit, where he handled investigations and prosecutions of white-collar crimes. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts and before the U.S. Supreme Court and several federal appeals and district courts. Brian earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1978 and his undergraduate degree from Franklin and Marshall College in 1975.
