In Memoriam: Brian J.E. Brock, K.C., Dutton Brock LLPIt is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and founding partner, Brian J.E. Brock, K.C. Brian Brock was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1969, appointed King’s Counsel in 1981 and received a Specialist in Civil Litigation. Brian was a valiant leader of lawyers, dedicating himself to the practice and education in the areas of Commercial Insurance, Products Liability, Class Actions, Professional Liability and Personal Injury. Brian taught at Osgoode Hall Law School, University of Toronto and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers. He served as President of the Toronto/County of York Law Association, the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto, as a Director of The Advocates’ Society and Editor of the Advocates’ Society Journal. He served on the Regional Senior Justices Bench and Bar Committee. He was a permanent member of Canadian Defence Lawyers, DRI – Lawyers Representing Business, and the Canadian Bar Association. Brian was instrumental in Dutton Brock LLP becoming a premier insurance defence firm in Canada. His legacy will live on with family, friends and colleagues within the legal community that he devoted his life to. Thank you Brian, you will be missed.
