Brandon Black is a CPA (inactive) and a partner in the Litigation Practice Group, where he advises clients on a range of complex commercial disputes. Brandon represents clients in litigation in state and federal courts and in arbitrations involving business and commercial transactions, the federal False Claims Act, defamation, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, consumer banking litigation, construction matters, bankruptcy, foreclosures, creditors’ rights, family business disputes, disputes between shareholders/members, business valuation disputes, succession disputes, the Public Bid Law, state and local tax issues, and all aspects of insurance coverage disputes. He also has handled a broad spectrum of state and local administrative matters before various boards, commissions, and administrative agencies, such as the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board, the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, the Louisiana Liquefied Petroleum Gas Commission, and the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board. Prior to joining Jones Walker, Brandon was a CPA and staff accountant at KPMG. From August 1996 to July 1997, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Frank J. Polozola of the US District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. Brandon was an associate from 1997 to 2002 and a partner from 2003 to 2004 at the law firm Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips LLP in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He joined Jones Walker in 2005 and became a partner at the firm in 2006.
