In her Labour practice, Balraj represents trade unions, with a focus in the education and health care sectors.In her pension and benefits practice, Balraj has provided advice to Boards of Trustees, plan administrators, trade unions and to individuals on a broad range of pension and benefits issues, including for example: advice around legislative compliance, trustee liability, litigation risks, plan restructuring and governance matters. Balraj has also successfully litigated on issues of disability pension benefits.Balraj excels at problem solving – whether it involves providing practical and strategic advice to clients on governance issues, labour matters, and litigation strategy or representing clients through written and oral advocacy before administrative tribunals, regulators, arbitrators and the courtroom.Balraj joined Cavalluzzo in 2019 after practicing in Halifax, Nova Scotia at a regional labour and litigation boutique firm, where she represented clients before various administrative decision-makers and all levels of court in Nova Scotia.
