With over 50 years experience as a defense lawyer, Tom’s practice includes criminal matters, with an emphasis on federal and state commercial and white collar prosecutions. He has extensive trial experience in the defense of commercial and white collar criminal cases, as well as cases involving allegations of public corruption, money laundering, fraud, computer tampering, arson, theft, assault, and vehicular manslaughter. In addition, Tom has been lead trial counsel in a number of capital and noncapital homicide cases. He also has wide-ranging experience in cases involving allegations of criminal activity that flow from regulatory matters, including investigations conducted by the NRC, FAA, SEC and EPA, as well as workplace fatalities arising out of OSHA and MSHA investigations and in trademark infringement and Lanham Act matters.Tom has significant experience in the representation of major corporations and corporate executive management. Over the course of his successful career, he has handled many of the more publicly notable cases in Arizona and has been recognized as one of Arizona’s most experienced jury trial counsel in both Federal and State jurisdictions. He is the recipient of the Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice John J. Flynn Lifetime Achievement Award and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He was recently recognized as a 2013 Southwest Super Lawyer in Criminal Law.
