Thomas M. Burnett is a shareholder in Reinhart’s Litigation Practice where he represents a variety of clients such as business owners, insurers, actuaries, and financial institutions as well as product manufacturers, developers and distributors. Tom has experience with a wide range of complex legal issues but concentrates his practice on product distribution and franchise litigation, false advertising and unfair competition, antitrust and trade regulation, and insurance and financial services litigation matters. Tom is involved in all aspects of trial and appellate practice and successfully represents clients before state and federal courts throughout the country at both the trial and appellate levels.He understands the value in taking the time to get to know his clients in order to mold litigation strategies that are consistent with their larger business strategy, and clients appreciate his ability to determine optimum legal solutions that are practical, in-line with business objectives, and take into consideration both long and short term implications. Tom provides legal advice at the intersection of business and law and is dedicated to providing clients with unmatched counsel and representation.In addition to his professional practice, Tom is actively involved in Reinhart’s pro bono program. He regularly partners with Legal Action of Wisconsin and a team of Reinhart attorneys to provide clients with legal representation they could otherwise not afford. This experience has allowed him to secure court-ordered restraining orders and injunctions on behalf of victims of domestic violence.Tom also previously served as a Special Assistant Prosecutor with the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office where he successfully tried serious felony offenses as a member of the DA’s Office Violent Crimes Unit. In recognition of his commitment to pro bono work, Tom was named Reinhart’s 2013 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School and his B.A., cum laude, from Duke University.
