About Taylor
Taylor Topliss is an associate at Roper Greyell, where he assists employers in all areas of workplace law. Taylor works with clients in a wide range of industries in both the private and public sectors, including manufacturing, technology, local government, non-profit, construction, mining, forestry, and health care.Taylor’s experience includes representing employers in wrongful dismissal and human rights matters, drafting employment agreements and company policies, managing employee performance and disability, and providing general workplace advice.He also has experience representing unionized employers in grievance arbitrations and BC Labour Relations Board matters regarding essential services, strikes, certifications, and unfair labour practices. Taylor is currently expanding his practice into collective bargaining and workplace investigations.Career highlights for Taylor include appearing on behalf of employers at trial and in chambers applications in the BC Provincial Court and the BC Supreme Court and arguing matters before the BC Labour Relations Board and the Federal Court of Canada.While in law school, Taylor volunteered with UBC’s Law Student’s Legal Advice Program and co-captained the TRU “Lawggers” to the Western Canadian Law Rugby Championship. He also secured a spot on TRU’s BC Court of Appeal mooting team where he gained valuable experience drafting arguments on complex legal issues and presenting them before BC Court of Appeal judges.Away from the office, Taylor enjoys keeping active – you can find him snowboarding on the slopes, camping, reading novels and walking his dog.
