About Tamara
Tamara (she/her/hers) is a partner at Moore Edgar Lyster LLP, where she practices in all areas of labour, employment, human rights, and administrative law.Tamara has broad experience representing trade unions in arbitrations, mediations, labour board hearings and court proceedings, including judicial reviews. She has represented private and public sector trade unions both federally and provincially. She also represents non-union employees in wrongful dismissal and human rights matters.Tamara has appeared as counsel at all levels of court in British Columbia and before administrative tribunals including the Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal, and the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal. She is a tenacious and tireless litigator and negotiator, who applies diverse strategies to ensure that her clients obtain the best results. Tamara takes the time getting to know her clients and the unique elements of their collective bargaining and workplace relationships in order to provide tailored, cost-effective, legal advice for each individual client.Tamara focuses on proactive strategies for her clients and social justice community groups, including by offering training and education opportunities. She is a frequent speaker and legal educator on various topics, including privacy law, federal labour law, and human rights and accommodation law.Tamara is active in the labour law community as BC's representative on the National Labour Rights Committee of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. She has also taught the Labour Arbitration Seminar at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.Before joining Moore Edgar Lyster, Tamara articled for a national law firm and clerked at the Federal Court of Canada.Tamara enjoys spending her time outside of work travelling, reading, and checking out live music all over the city.
