About Sonya
Sonya Burke is a shareholder in the firm’s Litigation group, where she practices primarily in insurance coverage defense. She represents insurance companies and their insureds in a variety of contexts. Sonya represents professionals in professional liability matters, and has represented realtors, attorneys, and contractors. She also assists with construction and design cases, employment matters including EEOC investigations, and breach of contract litigation. Sonya has been recognized as a Southwest Rising Star by Southwest Super Lawyers® and by Best Lawyers in America® for her work in Litigation – Insurance.Sonya received her law degree from Boston University School of Law, where she served as the Administrative Editor of the BU Public Interest Law Journal in addition to representing indigent defendants through the BU Criminal Clinic. She received her undergraduate degree in English, with a French minor, from the University of Texas at Austin. Sonya studied abroad in the French university system through Columbia University in Paris while attending Tulane University. After Hurricane Katrina, she transferred to the University of Texas.
