Read's practice focuses upon representing employers in connection with lawsuits, charges, claims, arbitrations, grievances, and appeals filed by employees. He also proactively counsels and advises employers regarding various aspects of employment law (including non-competition and trade secret matters); assists employers in designing and implementing personnel policies and procedures, employee handbooks, employment agreements (including non-competition agreements), and employment dispute resolution programs; and provides day-to-day counseling on employment matters. Read also designs and conducts management and employee training programs on a variety of employment-related matters (including such areas as workplace harassment, conducting internal investigations, EEO/whistleblower protection, and records retention). He is also a member of the firm’s Complex Litigation Group, which focuses on Directors and Officers Liability, Professional Liability, Fraud, Constitutional Challenges, and other Specialty Lines insurance claims.
