He has jury trial experience in both state and federal court.Phil started his legal career representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters but during the four years prior to joining O’Steen MacLeod Combs primarily represented insurers and defended personal injury and insurance bad faith actions.He received his undergraduate degree from Luther College and law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. During college he played on the baseball team and was a mathematics major inducted into the Pi Mu Epsilon National Honorary Mathematics Society. During law school he competed on the arbitration team and had a student note published in the Journal of Gender, Race & Justice.Phil worked as an extern for the Honorable Judge Stephen B. Jackson, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa and the Honorable Judge Susan M. Brnovich of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
