Philippe Dupont is a Founding Partner and a member of both the Bank Lending & Structured Finance and the Banking & Financial Services practices of Arendt & Medernach. He specialises in banking and finance and has considerable experience in bank regulatory matters as well as capital markets, lending, securities and structured finance transactions and litigation in finance matters.He has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 1986.He is a member of various advisory committees with the Ministry of Finance and with the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), the regulatory authority of the financial sector in Luxembourg. He was a member of the Luxembourg delegation and of the drafting group of the Unidroit Convention on substantive rules for intermediated securities, the Luxembourg expert at the Hague Convention on the law applicable to certain rights in respect of securities held with an intermediary and a member of the Luxembourg delegation and of the drafting group at the diplomatic conference leading to the Luxembourg Protocol to the Convention on international interests in mobile equipment on matters specific to railway rolling stock. He was also a member of various expert groups set up by the European Commission. He is a visiting lecturer in securities law at the University of Luxembourg and the author of various publications.He is a Conciliator and Arbitrator at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and a Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration.Philippe Dupont holds a Master's degree in law from the Université de Paris (France) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (U.K.).
