Monica Bergeron is an attorney in Fishman Haygood’s Litigation Section and works on a wide range of commercial matters in both state and federal court.Monica’s broad civil practice includes being part of the firm’s team that successfully arbitrated a multimillion contract dispute centered around complex scope of work and change order issues on behalf of Allco, LLC. As a result, Allco obtained an $11.5 million award against a large governmental contractor for disaster recovery work it performed in the U.S. Virgin Islands in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.Monica’s practice has also recently included maritime matters, ranging from issues like the Jones Act to general maritime and limitation of liability. These matters include representation of both plaintiffs and defendants across all three Louisiana federal district courts, as well as in the Southern District of Texas. Monica has also spoken on topics like the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation & Liability Act (CERCLA) and the Oil Pollution Act (OPA), most recently at the Louisiana Association of Justice’s 2025 High Stakes on the High Seas: A Maritime Law Conference.Monica is a member of the Association for Women Attorneys – New Orleans. She is also recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Business Litigation.Prior to arriving at Fishman Haygood, Monica served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jane Triche Milazzo of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.Monica received her law degree, summa cum laude, from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University in 2020 where she was a member of the Louisiana Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
