Maria Simon is an award-winning attorney who serves as the firm’s Managing Partner. While Maria’s practice is quite versatile, she specializes in family law, divorce, custody disputes, Collaborative Divorce, business law, and litigation.Frequently appearing in court nationwide on behalf of her clients, Maria has considerable experience in the Federal District Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, Bankruptcy Court, and the State courts of Virginia, District of Columbia, and Maryland. She helps families navigate the complexities of divorce; represents businesses, both large corporations and small businesses alike, and individuals in their tort and contract disputes; drafts appellate briefs; and has several favorable decisions published on Lexis exemplifying her achievements.Maria has been continually recognized as Virginia Business’ Legal Elite and selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for Virginia and the District of Columbia. Maria is also frequently requested to speak at events about work-life balance and the complexities of being a working parent.Maria is a member of the Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia (CPNV), the D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals (DCACP), and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.Maria graduated cum laude from the Honors Program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and cum laude from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. She is active in the community, having served two years as General Counsel for the Taste of the South Charity, and the General Counsel for Crispus Attucks Development Corporation.Along with Maria’s zeal for the practice of law, she is an avid runner and yoga practitioner, and loves cooking and spending time with her husband and three sons. A longtime resident of the District of Columbia, Maria now resides in Bethesda, Maryland
