Juan Carlos is the current managing partner of S+S and is the head of the labor and employment practice group. He has 34 years of professional experience handling both individual and collective labor matters. He is recognized as a leading lawyer at a national and international level in his area of expertise due to his significant role in the resolution of union disputes in the mining and automotive industry in Mexico. He provides advice to multinational companies in the retail, hotel and oil industries, among others, confronting the effects of labor legislation in terms of subcontracting matters and labor regulatory aspects in general. He has played a key role in the planning and development of the union strategy for the Mexican emerging private oil industry. He has recently advised many relevant companies in the country in redefining their union strategy considering the challenges of the 2019 labor reform and USMCA.
