John T. Rouse represents corporate clients in private civil litigation in state and federal courts throughout the Southeast. He focuses a substantial portion of his practice handling complex civil litigation filed against financial institutions, domestic and foreign product manufacturers, automotive finance and insurance companies, and national insurance companies.John has extensive experience handling matters for banks, mortgage lenders, and mortgage servicers surrounding federal and state consumer protection laws, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Housing Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), among others.John also has significant experience handling complex general litigation for automobile, aircraft, marine engine, and heavy equipment manufacturers as well as airlines and trucking companies involving product defects, product designs, breach of warranty, wrongful death, contract, finance, insurance, and default issues.Before entering practice, John was employed by a national consulting firm, providing consulting services for International Paper in Memphis, Tennessee.John is a Managing Editor of the CAFA Law Blog, providing information on the Class Action Fairness Act since 2005.
