John H. Gretzinger

John H. Gretzinger graduated from Michigan State University in 1971 and served as a Naval Officer from 1972 through 1975. After completion of his military service, he attended Detroit College of Law, was Managing Editor of the Detroit College of Law Review and received the Charles H. King Award for the highest scholastic proficiency in his 1978 graduating class. John is a specialist in labor and employment law, including collective bargaining negotiations, grievance arbitrations, Act 312 interest arbitrations, wage-and-hour matters, unemployment compensation, teacher tenure act proceedings and hearings before state and federal administrative agencies and courts. His practice focuses primarily on the representation of municipal entities, including cities, counties, school districts, charter schools, courts and other independent authorities. John is a member of the American Bar Association Section on Labor and Employment Law, and where he has served as Management Co-Chairman of the State and Local Bargaining and Employment Law Committee and as a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Labor and Employment Law. He is a member of the National and Michigan Associations of School Attorneys. John is admitted to practice in all Michigan state courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He was elected a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
