John F. Lauro

Mr. Lauro has an extensive national practice as a trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience. He is a native New Yorker, and his firm has offices in New York and Florida. Mr. Lauro graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. He began his practice with the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis. Mr. Lauro was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York, where he prosecuted international narcotics and white collar criminal matters. After government service, Mr. Lauro established a practice in Florida and New York, and became a partner with a national law firm. In 1994, he founded the Lauro Law Firm (now known as Lauro & Singer), which specializes in complex criminal and commercial litigation involving health care regulation, securities law, money-laundering, anti-trust, tax, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, etc. Recently, Mr. Lauro obtained a Rule 29 acquittal on behalf of the former president of Medical Manager, Inc. (later WebMD), in a complex criminal securities fraud trial. Mr. Lauro has been continually selected by his peers to be included in the Best Lawyers in America and Florida Super Lawyers, and was recently inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers.. He participates extensively in the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College and is an active member within the legal communities in Florida and New York where he frequently participates in various continuing education, writing, and speaking engagements.
