Shareholder Jacob M. Burg’s practice is focused on personal injury litigation. Mr. Burg obtained his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. While at the University of Denver, Mr. Burg served as the Vice President of the Student Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Burg is currently a member of the Craig Hospital PUSH event planning committee and has been actively involved since 2018. Craig Hospital is a Denver-based hospital that is world-renowned as a premier center for specialty rehabilitation and research for people with spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. Mr. Burg is also a member of the Colorado Bar Association Legal Fee Arbitration Committee.Prior to joining Burg Simpson, Mr. Burg served as a legal intern for Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper’s Office of Legal Counsel. Mr. Burg obtained his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan (2011). While attending the University of Michigan, Mr. Burg interned in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Senator Mark Udall and served as a finance intern for the 2008 Democratic National Convention Host Committee.Since 2021, Best Lawyers of America recognized Jacob as a “One to Watch”, and he was also recognized by his peers as a Rising Star by Colorado Super Lawyers.
