Tom Trent has experience in all areas of real estate transactions, including industrial development and economic incentives, leasing, corporate, joint venture, partnership and limited liability company law, and tax-exempt finance. Tom represents clients regionally and nationally, including major manufacturing companies, corporate users of commercial real estate, institutional investors, developers and lenders, and a number of foreign corporations.With more than 30 years of experience in real estate and economic development law, Tom has handled complex commercial and real estate transactions across the country, including real estate acquisitions, workouts, equity participations, the structuring and financing of subordinated and unsubordinated ground leases, industrial development financing, tax increment financing, and payment in lieu of tax agreement transactions.Mr. Trent is a current member of the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee. He is a recent graduate of the Transit Citizen Leadership Academy of the Nelson and Sue Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership of Lipscomb University, and recently completed his second term on the Regional Transportation Authority. He was a member of the 2020 Green Jobs Task Force, and was the chair of the Nashville Area Partnership 2010 Policy and Incentives Taskforce that addressed the use of economic incentives to attract and retain business.
