Charley Davidson leads the firm’s criminal defense practice, where he offers passionate, responsive counsel to guide clients facing state and federal charges in the areas of white collar and blue collar crime. Prior to joining Hanszen Laporte, he was a partner at a large international firm specializing in white collar defense, as well as a partner at a Houston-based criminal defense law firm. Charley also spent three years as an assistant U.S. attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas and seven years with the Office of District Attorney, Harris County. He has acted as first-chair counsel in well over 100 jury trials in state and federal court.While willing and adept when going to trial, as an experienced litigator, Charley recognizes that it is often better for clients to seek alternative methods of resolving conflicts. He is a skilled negotiator who encourages clients to take advantage of mediation, arbitration, plea bargaining, and other forums for alternative dispute resolution, when appropriate.
