About Chad
Chad Stroud is a Partner at McAndrews who specializes in intellectual property law, including patent prosecution and patent and trademark litigation. Chad has extensive experience providing patent validity, freedom to operate and patent infringement analyses.Chad received a B.A. and M.S. in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University and a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in the chemical and life sciences. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law where he won awards in patent law and IP moot court.Before joining McAndrews, Chad held post-doctorate positions at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada where he examined the effects of flaxseed lignans on gene transcription related to lipid metabolism and at L’Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, France where he researched breast cancer in genetically modified mice to elucidate mechanisms of omega-3 fatty acid protection.
