Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor in 2004, Barry honed his skills as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in Washington, D.C., gaining invaluable experience in navigating the complexities of the federal court system. He focuses his practice exclusively on white-collar crime, concentrating on cases involving allegations of fraud, money laundering, price-fixing, environmental offenses, gambling, bribery, corruption, and racketeering. Mr. Boss brings a strategic and meticulous approach to every case, leveraging his extensive jury trial and appellate experience to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients.
Barry’s expertise extends beyond the courtroom. He is a co-author of *Federal Criminal Practice*, an 800-page treatise widely recognized as a leading resource for criminal defense attorneys. This demonstrates his commitment to staying at the forefront of legal developments and sharing his knowledge with the legal community. Currently, he serves as a co-chair of the American Bar Association's Criminal Justice Section Sentencing Committee and as a member of the ABA’s Task Force on The Reform of Federal Sentencing for Economic Crimes – a role he previously held as a co-chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission’s Practitioners Advisory Group. His frequent writing and speaking engagements on criminal defense issues, and his role as a criminal law expert for national media organizations (including being referred to as an “expert” on federal sentencing law by *The Washington Post*), solidify his position as a thought leader in the field.
